Fabio Wardley Names The Greatest Heavyweight Of All Time

Fabio Wardley has revealed who he thinks is the best heavyweight boxer to ever do it.

The Ipswich man has quickly risen through the ranks himself. Unusually, he is a former white-collar boxer who had plenty of success and decided to turn professional in April 2017.

Since then, he has had 21 fights, won 20 of them and 19 by way of knockout. The one slight blemish on his ledger is a draw with Frazer Clarke that saw both men battle hard over 12 engaging rounds.

The immediate rematch was quite the opposite, with Wardley winning by first-round KO. Since then, he has stopped both Justis Huni and Joseph Parker, despite apparently being behind on the cards late into the fights.

Those wins saw him elevated to IBF champion, and next week, he will make the maiden defence of his title when he takes on former champion Daniel Dubois.

Wardley is the older of the two men at 31, while Dubois arguably has more big fight experience, having beaten Anthony Joshua and twice shared the ring with Oleksandr Usyk.

Ahead of that and speaking to Daily Mail Boxing, Wardley played a round of good, great, legend or GOAT and was asked for his view on Muhammad Ali.

“GOAT.”

Ali passed almost exactly a decade ago in 2016, but remains a towering figure in world sport, not just boxing. As well as being the undisputed champion from 1974 to 1978, he was a loud opponent of the Vietnam War who gave up the best years of his career by refusing the draft and being banned from the sport.
