Frank Warren believes he has another heavyweight star of the future amongst his ranks.
Warren currently represents two of the brightest heavyweights in the country in Moses Itauma and Daniel Dubois. Dubois is already a two-time world champion who beat Fabio Wardley by KO last time out and is set to rematch the Ipswich man before moving on.
Itauma, meanwhile, has won all 14 of his fights, 12 of them by KO, and many within the first two rounds. He makes a big step up this later this month when he takes on Filip Hrgovic, with that fight now for the vacant IBF heavyweight title.
Elsewhere in the division, former two-time undisputed ruler Oleksandr Usyk likely only has one fight left before retirement and former divisional kings Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are expected to face off later this year, with one if not both close to retirement, so there is plenty of scope for new names to emerge and rise to the top in the coming years.
Speaking to iFL TV, Warren had high praise for his upcoming charge Adam Olaniyan, who he thinks can go all the way.
“Yeah, he’s got a great work rate, punch perfect, throws great shots. He’s a young fighter at the start of his journey, but you know he’s going to be something extra special; there’s no doubt about that.”
Ireland’s Olaniyan stands 6ft 6 tall, and after his debut in March this year, he has won all three of his bouts so far, and all three by way of knockout.
As an amateur, he won back-to-back European Championships along with claiming Gold at the 2024 Under 19 World Championships.
He signed with Frank Warren’s Queensbury rather than hanging around for the next Olympic cycle and returns to the ring on September 5 at Croke Park on the undercard of Katie Taylor’s farewell fight against Flora Pili.
