Dillian Whyte Sums Up Moses Itauma’s Chances Of Beating Deontay Wilder

Dillian Whyte has weighed in on Moses Itauma‘s chances of defeating former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

Itauma made his highly-anticipated return to the ring back in March when he became the first fighter to stop America’s Jermaine Franklin at the Co-Op Live Arena in Manchester, England.

The 21-year-old from Kent is in line to be back in action this summer, with reports suggesting that he is set to face Croatia’s Filip Hrgovic next, although an official announcement for this bout is yet to be made.

One man who has felt the thunderous punching power of Itauma over the last 12 months is former WBC interim heavyweight champion Whyte, who was stopped in the opening round of his clash with his countryman in Riyadh last August.

In an interview with iFL TV, Whyte weighed up a potential clash between Itauma and Wilder as he claims the latter could prove to be a ‘dangerous fight’ for the unbeaten British star.

“Yeah but Wilder’s a dangerous fight because Wilder just has that mad equalizer that he throws. Like he throws it, he sort of springs into action really out of nowhere, so he’s dangerous.”

Wilder returned to the ring for the 50th time as a professional on April 4 when he got the better of veteran British heavyweight Derek Chisora at the conclusion of their 12-round clash in London, defeating the 42-year-old via split decision.

‘The Bronze Bomber’ is set to make a return to action before the end of the year as he looks to push towards securing himself an opportunity at becoming a world heavyweight champion once again.
