As he prepares to make his return to the ring, Shakur Stevenson has been urged to send the contract for an intriguing world title match-up.
The four-weight world champion was last in action on January 31 when he outclassed countryman Teofimo Lopez to capture the WBO world super-lightweight title at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Stevenson’s classy display against Lopez saw him cement his spot in the pound-for-pound top ten and prove exactly why many fighters are demanding an opportunity to face the 28-year-old from Newark.
One man who has called for a showdown with Stevenson is reigning WBC world super-featherweight champion O’Shaquie Foster, who produced an impressive victory over Raymond Ford at the end of last month.
With reports suggesting that a clash between Stevenson and Ford could be on the horizon, Foster has reiterated his desire to face the four-weight world champion.
Speaking to Fight Hub TV just days after his win over Ford, Foster urged Stevenson to ‘stand on his word’ and send a contract for a world title clash between the American duo.
“Stand on your word man. Don’t be a Twitter-son like they say and Twitter fingers man. Hey, send the contract, you know, at least try to attempt to make the fight and let’s give the fans what they want.”
Stevenson and Foster faced off in the ring just moments after the latter was declared the winner over Ford last weekend, sparking rumours that a bout between the pair could take place before the end of 2026.
