Former Daniel Dubois Opponent Says He Would’ve KOd Him If He Was ‘100% Fit’

Daniel Dubois has stopped plenty of high-profile fighters in recent years, but one of them claims he would have fared better had he been properly fit.

‘DDD’ found his best form following a knockout loss to Oleksandr Usyk in August 2023. After that, he got back in action in the December and stopped American Jarrell Miller in the dying seconds of their fight.

He then finished Filip Hrgovic in June 2024 and backed that up with a career-best KO win over Anthony Joshua to defend his IBF belt in September.

Usyk beat him again in July 2025 to become a two-time undisputed champion and last time out, Dubois stopped Fabio Wardley in the 11th round back in May to become a two-time world champion by winning the WBO strap.

Speaking to Play UK, however, Miller claimed he wasn’t at his best for the fight with ‘DDD’.

“That Dubois fight was 100 percent late notice. You’ve got to look at the performance between when I fight top contenders, when I’m in shape and when I’m not in shape. If I came in the kind of shape I came in for my last fight and I fought Dubois, I’d have stopped Dubois. Dubois would not take a thousand punches from me.”

Since that contest, the 300lbs+ Miller gas fought three times – first to a draw with former unified ruler Andy Ruiz, then in 2026 he has had two straight forward points wins over low-ranked opposition in Kingsley Ibeh and Lenier Pero.

Although he does not have his next fight scheduled, he has been named as a possible first defence for new WBC champion Agit Kabayel.
