Chris Eubank Jr has broken down Anthony Joshua‘s much-anticipated fight with fellow British heavyweight Tyson Fury.
These two have long been on a collision course, with both being world champions on separate occasions over the last decade plus.
Various things have kept them apart, including extended periods out of the ring and losses to Oleksandr Usyk, who dethroned both men and then beat them both in the respective rematches.
Joshua was last out in December of last year when he beat the overmatched Jake Paul by sixth-round knockout, while Fury returned following a year of retirement and beat Arslanbek Makmudov back in April.
There is still hurdles before they meet later in the year, and one of them is Joshua’s fight with Kristian Prenga next month.
Should he come through that, they are expected to meet in Autumn, though there is still fierce debate about whether that will be in the UK, as many hope, or in the United States.
Speaking to talkSPORT Boxing, Eubank Jr explained that he can only see one man coming out on top.
“I think AJ has been a lot more disciplined than Fury has during his career, and I think he is probably in a better headspace right now. Probably [better] physically too.
“I wasn’t impressed by Fury’s last fight [with Arslanbek Makhmudov]… I think if that fight happens, then AJ probably has the edge.”
There have been questions over Joshua’s chin given he has been knocked out by both Andy Ruiz Jr and Daniel Dubois, but a solid KO win over Prenga will also underline his long-held punching power.
