British Heavyweight Doesn’t Believe Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua Will Ever Happen

Tyson Fury against Anthony Joshua is the biggest fight in British boxing, but one heavyweight favourite isn’t yet convinced it will happen.

This fight has been brewing for more than 10 years as both men have risen up through the ranks to become world champions not once, but twice.

However, both men have also lost at key times and to the same man, Oleksandr Usyk, and then again in rematches, which is one of the reasons they have not been able to share the ring.

Another is that Fury spent the whole of 2025 in retirement and Joshua has taken time out first to recover from a KO loss to Daniel Dubois and then to get over the loss of two friends in a car accident in which he was involved.

Now, after many years of talk, it is hoped the two will finally come to blows later this year, though not everyone believes it.

Speaking to Pro Boxing Fans, Dave Allen was asked what he made of the whole situation.

“I’m not really sure, to be honest. I hope the fight happens and I hope it happens in England. The biggest fight in British boxing history should happen in Britain really, shouldn’t it. I’m not really sure it will happen. I don’t think it will.

“I think something will get in the way, whether it’s a defeat for one of the two guys. Or whether they can’t come to an agreement or something but I don’t think it will happen, that’s my honest opinion.”

Joshua is next out in July when he takes on Kristian Prenga and he must win that to secure what would be an epic showdown with ‘The Gypsy King’, though as of yet no location or date has been confirmed for the all-British clash.
