Former heavyweight champion says he’s coming back to ‘take the crown again’: “Nobody can stop me”

A heavyweight champion who once ruled the division has claimed he is back to take over once more.

The heavyweight division is in flux right now, with belts having changed hands freely in the last couple of years. The first-ever two-time undisputed champion in the four-belt era, Oleksandr Usyk, held all four until he first vacated the WBO title.

Fabio Wardley was evaluated to full champion but was then beaten by Daniel Dubois when he got stopped early in the year. The pair could rematch in the next few months, and in the meantime, Usyk has now vacated the other three belts.

Agit Kabayel has been promoted to full WBC champion and is looking to make his first defence, while Moses Itauma and Filip Hrgović soon fight to establish their contender status.

Tyson Fury is also due for his second fight in 2026 when he takes on Mariusz Wach on July 24, just a day before Anthony Joshua returns to action with a bout against Kristian Prenga.

Speaking on a new post on X, Fury vowed that he is back and means serious business.

“Turki, I’m here brother. I’m grinding. The Big Mac is coming back to take over the crown again, no one can stop me, I am he. Favoured by God, let’s go, baby.”

If both former world champions win their latest tune-ups as expected, Joshua and Fury are set to finally meet in the ring before the year is out, though it has not yet been decided if that will be in the UK or the US.
