Carl Froch Sums Up Moses Itauma’s Chances Of Beating Daniel Dubois Now

Carl Froch has looked ahead to a potential clash between Daniel Dubois and Moses Itauma.

There has been plenty of change in the heavyweight division of late, and the picture that has now emerged has both Itauma and Dubois at the centre.

‘DDD’ is already a two-time world champion, having previously held the IBF belt and defended it against Anthony Joshua before losing to Oleksandr Usyk and then winning the WBO belt after knocking out Fabio Wardley last time out.

Itauma, meanwhile, is still on the hunt for his first shot at a title but has done all that has been asked of him so far by knocking out 12 of his 14 opponents, including the likes of Dillian Whyte and Jermaine Franklin.

Speaking on his own YouTube channel, former world champion Froch broke down how he thought a fight between the pair might go down.

“[Dubois] is big, strong, nice solid jab, a tidy fighter. He can take a punch when he has to, but he does choose to go down every now and then, there is almost a question mark around his desire and his heart and whether or not he has got that grit.

“So, it is difficult say whether he can reign, but he is a two-time world champ and now he is WBO world champ, so he has got Moses Itauma knocking on the door. Moses Itauma is mandatory for the WBO, so maybe we will find something out there.

“We are going to find something out about Itauma because, if this fight gets made, it will be the first time that he has been in with someone who can actually punch really hard and is very tidy.”

Dubois is first set to rematch Wardley before he can move on, while Itauma takes a big step up once more when he fights Filip Hrgovic in August.

A win in that one would put him in pole position for a shot at a full world title.
