Chris Eubank Jr. has spoken of his intention to return to the ring this year and one former world champion has admitted he would be a willing opponent.
Eubank Jr has never won a world title himself but has always been involved in big fights. Early on his narrowly lost to Billy Joe Saunders, but went on to fight the likes of James DeGale, whom he beat, and George Groves, who beat him.
His biggest rivalry is with Conor Benn, who he chased for two years and then missed out in fighting when Benn failed a drug test and the fight was pulled. Eventually, the pair came together early last year and Eubank Jr won a wide points decision, with his size and experience winning out.
However, the rematch six months later went the other way. Eubank was down twice and lost on points and has not fought since, as he takes time out to recover and be with his new twin babies.
Speaking to Boxing King Media, former world champion Kell Brook admitted he could be tempted out of retirement for the right purse.
“Absolutely, you know, if the right offer comes in, I will fight. We’ve got history me and Eubank Jr. You’ve just been with him in my motherland of Nigeria, but you know, the offer still stands. If we can be sensible and give me what I’m worth, that fight can happen. If it doesn’t, I’m happy.”
Welterweight great Brook won his world title in America against Shawn Porter and also fought the likes of Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. His last fight was against his old foe, Amir Khan, who he stopped back in February 2022.
